I am finding lots of DVDs that play just fine with Totem or Xine but are impossible to backup accurately. Typically there are about 100 tracks but the tracks do not correspond to the content very well. For example, many tracks report, say 25 minutes of video, but if you play them then the length changes to less than 100 frames. There are other tracks that seem to contain the content. If I copy them to the hard drive then I get maybe an hour of video. However, the track is not the entire program but just a slice of it. So it looks like content creators are distributing the video across tracks in a fairly complex way and using the DVD Menu system to piece things back together. Is there a way to backup these kinds of DVDs? -- American? Join the effort toward National Initiative, http://ni4d.us
