Which version of Fresco are you actually using? It detects omniorb just
fine for me. It used to work with --with-omniorb-prefix too (haven't
tried in a while since omni is now available as a .deb). Maybe it got
broken?

Looking in config/omniorb.m4 configure should check for omniORB4/CORBA.h
(with CPPFLAGS set to include the omniorb-prefix+include). Afterwards it
tries wether the libraries omniORB4 and omniDynamic4 can get linked into
a binary. I'm wondering why it is looking for omniORB4.h in your setup...
