Reading!

    * Getting yourself familar with CORBA, both the concepts and the
      language binding.
    * Reading about Fresco's design.
    * Working through the papers on the Reading section.
    * If you have money, reading some of the books proposed there. Esp.
      "Design Patterns" is a very good read.
    * If you're interested, you can read the Warsaw/Fresco interfaces in
      the IDL sources (*.idl files) in CVS web or LXR or you can use the
      Reference manual generated by Synopsis. All that should be hidden
      on our website somewhere.

This will make starting with Berlin *a lot* easier. Of course, it is a 
bit dry.
