hey, just a short comment on the discussion itself..

with all this mistakes in language and imprecise wording, 
maybe it's better to work on this in wiki (and later
maybe in cvs once it's in "draft state")?
that way one always has the "big picture" at hand without
browsing lots of mails and corrections can be done in-line
thus (hopefully) leading to a compact (ie. not just add stuff
to the page at the end) and precise (once everyone agreed on
a single language standard _by example_)

it's a very complex topic, which is very important though.
in this thread it already happened quite often that I already
opened the editor to write a reply and found out that I most
likely just would add more confusion due to lacking skills in
english language when it comes to precise description - maybe
lacking skills on the topic itself as well

I just think that mail might be the wrong tool for this job,
meeting up in personal isn't likely to be possible in the next
time I think, so I'm just wondering if wiki / a document in cvs
/ something completely different might be a better tool.

hmm... this all reminds me that I could just start trying to
collapse some of the comments in TextKitDiscussion into a
more compact form - if no-one minds me touching his comments
that is.
