I like the text quite a lot (and I sure wouldn't come up with anything
better). I think we should just clean up the page a bit (for example
remove the editorial comment on the top), and then link to it from
the home page ('latest news: project name officially changed, see ...')
and from the FAQ. (We don't seem to have a general project related
faq section, or do we ?)

And I should clean up the project history page, so your page can link
to it.

I'll focus on that tonight.
