[Fresco-devel] openGL hw-acceleration without X...

I haven't been following things very closely lately, so I don't know if 
y'all know this already or not, but here goes:

... This seems to be a direct result/continuation of the work Keith 
Withwell (DRI) and Brian Paul (Mesa) have been doing in Mesa's 
embedded-1 branch.

It seems there finally is some momentum to isolate the DRI drivers from 
Xfree86. (There's a lot of recent discussion on dri-devel about this: 
check http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=dri-devel&w=2&r=1&s=embedded&q=b 
for instance). "The future of Xfree86" also spawned alot of "future of 
DRI"-type questions, so it seems the architecture will get in place 
sooner than we expected.

This should make us happy :)
