There's allways our IRC channel (#fresco on freenode.net). It's not
better, but sometimes faster (if you are lucky and don't pick a time
when everybody is just idleing out).

That's right. Either you come up with a long LD_LIBRARY_PATH or you
make install to put everything into one directory tree. Make sure to
configure using a --prefix or everything will end up in /usr/local!

All this should be explained in the INSTALL file right in the top of
your source directory.

The server got renamed to 'berlin' after our packagers complained that
'server' is to generic a name to put into a /usr/bin.

Please read the INSTALL file. We do try to encourage people not to build
in the sourcetree but to create a separate directory which will then
hold all the files greated during build. Easier to clean up;-)
