Some thoughts about the video link type in gephex 0.5. Limits: - only rectangular screens - only progressive scan (no interlaced modes) - only constant frame rates - only one frame in one video link Requirements: - 4:3 and 16:9 screen aspect ratio - rgb color model - alpha channel - common broadcast and computer resolutions 4:3: 320x240, 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 16:9: 1280x720, 1920X1080 - alignment for pixels (32 bit) - alignment for scan lines (128 bit) - 8 bit resolution per channel - must support frei0r framebuffer layout without conversion Open issues: - Should we support formats with a pixel aspect != 1:1 ? DV PAL e.g. has a resolution of 720 x 576 and aspect ratio of 4:3 - optional yuv color space - Subimages - optional monochrome and binary images _______________________________________________ gephex-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gephex.org/mailman/listinfo/gephex-devel
