Just for the record, chaining mplayer with gephex using a pipe worked for me with the following commands: ~> mkfifo stream.yuv ~> mplayer -vo yuv4mpeg <filename>.avi Then, I started gephex and set the "Filename" property of the y4min module to "/home/georg/stream.yuv". To be able to do this, I had to unhide the "Filename" property and add a "text input" control. Then I entered the file name there. (The qt file open dialog did not show the pipe - maybe it can be configured to do so...). Good luck for your show!
