IE _still_ is the problem as it, obviously, doesn't support PNG fully. At
least not on Windows. I've created some PNGs using GIMP on Linux and IE 4
behaved like IE 6 is doing with PNGs created on Windows. IE 5.5 on Windows
and IE 5 on Mac behaved the SAME way Netscape 7 and Opera 6 on Linux and
Opera 7 on Windows and displayed the image correctly. This was using GIMP
1.2.3 on Linux. If you send me e-mail offline, I can send you one such PNG
that I created and you can see how it behaves with your copy of IE.

I guess another way of saying this IE on Windows has _some_ PNG support,
but not FULL PNG support.

Peace....

Tom

So does anyone know - is this a GIMP on Windows only problem? In
other words, GIMP on Unix does it correctly?

I do know that IE is not the problem because PNGs created by other
people DO show as transparent.
