I searched for gtk, gtk+, programming, bible, > gtkrc, but I didn't get anything. Of course it is. In more detail: Gnome/Gtk+ Programming Bible, author: Arthur Griffith, IDG Books Worldwide Inc., ISBN 0-7645-4640-6 (www.idgbooks.com), chapter 7, "Bitmaps, Pixmaps, and Cursors. section 2, "The XPM format" (XPixMap), pg. 174 On wotsit, you have a search; type "pixmap" and you'll find a pdf file with a description of the format and of the XPM library. In addition search on Amazon for "graphics file formats" (Encyclopedia of Graphics File Formats, published by O'Reilly). And I found the xpm format on the first page of google, searching for pixmap (I answered to your first question, about the pixmap format)
