I don't think it would be much use to me. My application makefiles build both native (ie., Linux) and mingw32 versions of the application so no one setting of such an environment variable would work. What I probably should do is create a PKG_CONFIG_MINGW32_PATH variable that my makefiles could use, but my configuration management system uses a standard path to all managed products via a directory of symbolic links which are updated to control which version of a product the current build is against so there would be no great advantage. > BTW, any idea why setting PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR does not seem to work as > expected ?
