As has been suggested a long time ago, the gimpwin-dev list really doesn't serve much purpose as a separate list any longer. It's name seems to indicate that it's for discussion about developing GIMP on Windows, but actually very little GIMP-specific discussion has been taking place. Most of the discussion is about GTK application development (which has been OK, per se), but as Windows is an officially supported GTK platform, there really isn't any reason why such discussion couldn't take place on the real GTK lists. Ditto for GIMP topics, they can well be on the real GIMP developer or user lists. Bug reports about GTK are better served by posting to bugzilla.gnome.org. So, I'll close this list now. I'll just prevent anybody from posting and new people from joining; the archives will stay on yahoogroups, hopefully (or do they have some kind of automatic purging of groups that seem inactive?). Please subscribe to one or several of the following lists instead. See the mentioned web pages for subscription info. (from http://www.gtk.org/mailinglists.html) - [email protected] This is the main mailing list, and probably the one you should ask questions about GTK+. The topic of this list is general topics related to GTK+, including everything from discussion of proposed new features to questions about compiling GTK+. - [email protected] Discussion on this list is oriented toward developing applications with GTK+. This has been a lower traffic list which is good for asking simple GTK+ questions. - [email protected] This list is for developers of GTK+ to discuss code. General GTK+ questions should not be asked on this list, as that is more appropriate for gtk-list. Requests for new features should not be sent to this list, as that is also more appropriate for gtk-list. (from http://www.gimp.org/mailing_list.html) - [email protected] For the everyday user. Here you will find tips for doing cool effects, user questions, etc. - [email protected] For plug-in developers and `core' program developers. Here you will find patches to the source code and discussion about The Gimp development in general. --tml
