I think there is a problem with /lib/pkgconfig/glib-2.0.pc from the .zip
files because it contains in the first line:

prefix=/target

This is information from another discussion list (gnome-db). Is there a
solution for this other than hand-editing the file for the right target
(e.g., simply / )?
