Question about gtk for win32 and linux

I am  a little surprised about the version numbers (and content) of gtk 1.2
for linux an gtk 1.3 for win32.
I thought the win  version 1.3 means the latest version of gtk 1.2 for
linux.

Whats the problem?
O.k I like to compile my projekt for linux,it was developed under Windows.

But I found that in gtk 1.3 win32 the function "gtk_option_menu_get_history"
exist but in gtk 1.2 dosent.

How can I get the function "gtk_option_menu_get_history" available under
linux in gtk version 1.2 ?
I dont want to use gtk 2.0 now.
