Build The GIMP is there a manual especially for Windows

I probably should build the newest one.
Is there a manual for this sort of thing.
I have built things in the past under a
variety of operating systems.

Also I tend to try to trumpet/evangelise
the goodness of open source art stuff to
people who actually do things like art,
multimedia and animation. What I hope
to do as I update things and go dual boot
Linux/ Windows98 or Linux/Windows XP
and run open source Art Software like GIMP
and say the POV Raytracer in both the
Microsoft World and the Linux world.

A manual would be a great thing. The curent
spate of messages is exactly the thing that
strikes fear into the hearts of art types.
Is there something to guide people through this
easily? or is it something I should essay to
write after I take a tour of online information?
I don't want to go reinventing wheels and the like.

Sorry for the long winded and not very technical
message but these are exactly the issues I am dealing
with at this time and as I update my versions of things.
