RE: Fresh stuff for download: GLib 2.0.7, GTK+ 2.0. 9, Pango 1.0.5

Yes this looks SUPERB, and the installer is good too, however, I am testing
all my software on a P3 333mzh with 256 mb of RAM to make sure that it will
run fine on low end machines, and this new GTK set of libs runs DAMN slow.
There is a real performance hit.  I have a window and i load 600 items into
a treeview and it takes the best part of a minute.

Are there any optimising techniques in the gdk library?
