Using a different compiler, at least this is how it is advertized.
In general, this is good, because quikrs in the source are more likely
discovered this way.

So far this project seems to have been mostly under the radar (at least
I haven't seen any announcements by the maintainer(s?) on gimp-user or
gimp-developer), so I guess that most of GIMP's developers don't know
about it.
