Thanks for the link to the 2.4 documentation. Unfortunately the link on 
the Wordpress site leads to a site on 4shared.com. I don't know if all 
download links on 4shared.com are the same, but the link to the GIMP 
help 2.4.2 pdf file has been hijacked by pop-up ads from ad-brite. I 
finally ferreted out the link from source code:

Unfortunately I can't get snipurl to work with that long, long link. 
Hopefully anyone on this list will know how to repair it if it gets 
broken in transmission. I did successfully download the 22mb file and it 
looks intact. I won't have time to read it for a few days.
