Just want to say the GIMPVS 2008 1.1 RC1K is rather raw for me. I have
been using "official" compilation on a regular basis for long (and RCs
too), so I can compare with the latest available 2.4.2.

My complains are:
1. The installer does not allow to change installation directory. It
is unacceptable.
2. There is no small theme in the compilation. The default theme is
way too large.
3. There is no localization. Some of the menu items are in French.
4. There are 2 whirl distortion filters - one with and one without
preview.
5. Some python scripts do not work. 
6. Script-fu autocontrast doesn't work.

Nevertheless, thank you for your work. May I suggest you taking
official compilation, installation scripts and Jernei knowledge as a
basis? In this case problems 1, 2, 3 would disappear.
