GIMP 2.4.3 not starting right.

I am new to this group. I have just downloader GIMP 2.4.3 but it is not
starting right. It does not open with the "stardard windows of GIMP"
as shown in Chapter 2 (Main Windows) of the User Manuel. Instead it
spread across the page not unlike a Toolbar or Menu Bar. Can anyone
offer suggestion, please?
