WEIRD: Cannot enter 0 in dialog boxes

Dear all,

I am using WinXP SP2 and have currently installed GIMP 2.4.4. I face a
very weird issue. I just cannot input 0 (the number zero) in any of
the dialog boxes. For example, File->New->Width or Height, I cannot
enter 1024 - it will just input 124. However, I can enter 024; that is
provided 0 is the first digit, I can enter it - but this is of no use
to me - because if I enter 0 as the first digit, I cannot move the
cursor and enter a preceding digit!

This has been a frustrating experience. PLEASE HELP!!!!
