 the deweirdifier plugin will not work with gimp 2.4 but only with more outdated version (well ...will never work well, but with gimp 2.0 or 2.2 it may works..sort of..)

anyway the deweridifier will transform your gimp in gimpshop, that is a over-bloated, but very outdated , poor and buggy hack.

if you really want/need a imagine window opened at start, and a more PS-like look you have much better solutions

1 go to www.portableapps.com and download the portable version of gimp.
As far i know work well also if installed on the main HD and there, on the gimp page
There you will find the links for 2 plugin that will offer a similar results with less disadvantage

Even better if youare so brave to install a linux partition would be install gimp 2.5
Sure is a unstable beta release,may have some bugs... but is not so  unstable for sure is not so unstable and buggy as gimpshop,( that is almost impossible )

On the other hand Gimpshop is based on a obsolete version of Gimp, while Gimp-2.5 has a lot of new shining things...
