GraphicsMagick 1.1 Beta 1

The base GraphicsMagick 1.1 Beta 1 source packages are now available
at "http://www.GraphicsMagick.org/pub/GraphicsMagick/beta/".  Please
use this release and let us know if find any flaws so they can be
fixed for the final 1.1 release.  The beta period should be very short
since the package has received so much testing.

The Windows source package and binaries will arrive later.  I expect
to prepare them this weekend.  I will send out another announcement
when they are available.

To check these sources out of GraphicsMagick CVS, use the
"GraphicsMagick-1_1_Beta1" tag to get exactly 1.1Beta1, or
"GraphicsMagick-1_1" in order to track ongoing fixes in the 1.1
release branch.

GraphicsMagick 1.1 has undergone gobs of testing on all major
platforms and many bugs have been fixed.  In particular error
reporting is more robust and there should be no memory leaks during
normal operation (valgrind finds no leaks).

GraphicsMagick 1.1Beta1 has been tested on the following platforms:

Windows XP with Visual Studio .net (2003)

Windows XP with Cygwin and GCC compiler

Solaris 9 with GCC 3.3.3
FreeBSD 5.0 with GCC 3.3.3
RedHat Linux 7.1 with GCC
RedHat Linux 9 with GCC
Gentoo Linux 2.6.3 with GCC
