Since you are using C, are you using the Wand API interface or the core GraphicsMagick APIs? I suspect that you are using the Wand API. Is that correct? If my memory is correct, the bug was in the Wand library. It was fixed in conjunction with other changes. However, I am not able to find a record of a change so perhaps my memory is incorrect. Regardless, 1.3.5 is an old release and a huge number of bugs have been fixed since then.
