Perhaps it is uses old JPEG compression.  If libtiff is having an 
internal problem which corrupts memory, then there might not be much 
you can do about it.  If it returns an error response, then there is 
something you can do about it.

If you have a proper ftp client, you can upload it anonymously via ftp 
to ftp://ftp.simplesystems.org/incoming/graphicsmagick/ and let me 
know that you uploaded it.  I see a lot of junk which was uploaded 
there.
