I fixed the bzip2 problem yesterday, and the fix is in GraphicsMagick 
CVS and the latest GM 1.3 snapshot.  Hopefully the fix is completely 
correct.  I built libbz2 as a DLL.

That is interesting.  I took the normal "unix" tarball and built 
libxml using a MinGW cross-compiler.  There is one step that wanted to 
execute a built executable so I built that executable on the host and 
then the build completed.  Libxml was built using DLLs.

Compilation fixes for libxml2 on MingW are also in CVS.

I tested builds under MSYS/native and using a cross-compiler.

This is the GM feature set for my current cross-build set-up.  The 
missing libraries are because I have not gotten to them yet:
