The problem is almost certainly due to the created image being in sRGB colorspace by default but Cineon is written in CineonLog colorspace. You will likely find that when the Cineon file was read back, that it is now in CineonLog colorspace (colorSpace () method returns CineonLogRGBColorspace. If you set the image to CineonLogRGBColorspace using the colorSpace() method prior to saving the image, I believe that you should obtain similar values back. The values may not be exactly the same since 16 bits can't be fully preserved in 10 bit storage.
