Problem using imagmagickobject.dll

I am getting intermittent errors from the dll. The message is:
convert: 0: unknown: unknown

It appears that the command is processed (I get an output file). Running the
exact same command again succeeds. I built the dll with Visual Studio 6.0 on
Windows 2000 (Q8 static MT, GraphicsMagick sources). The dll is installed on
NT. Any ideas? I'm loading up the 5.4.9 dll now to see how it behaves.
