Bob - > Do you have access to a high quality profiler? ... I feel comfortable about the profiling. On a Palm Tungsten T, I have a 72 MHz timer that I can directly read. I deduct 20 ticks for the overhead (the actual overhead is betwenn 20 and 100 depending on instruction set and instruction caching). This produces accurate profiling results, I think. I can easily identify individual instructions even in often-called inner loops and see how much time they need in total. If I do this optimization myself, I'm more worried that I don't understand the graphics algorithms and get stuck for a long time. That's why I would prefer to find a graphics-experienced consultant. Do you think a graphics-newbie like me can handle this? How long do you think would I need to get GetPixelOpacity() moved over to integer math, for example?
