It seems to me that the GraphicsMagick 1.1 development code base is
quite solid now. It has far more than its fair share of fixes and
improvements. Does anyone know of a reason that GraphicsMagick 1.1
shouldn't transition to Beta status, with formal release in a couple
of weeks? Once 1.1 is in Beta, API updates are forbidden unless they
are necessary to fix a bug.

I expect that GraphicsMagick 1.2 would be released around the end of
June in order to enable LZW compression by default (yay!), and to pick
up the final Wand API updates from the ImageMagick 6.0.0 release
(assuming it is released by then).
