Re: Tru64 UNIX patches for 1.1.2

I had encountered the problem with ios::binary before.  We will need 
it for Windows or any other OS that has a text file format so there 
needs to be a better solution than just removing it.  Since old 
Digital Unix is the only place where I have seen this problem occur, 
maybe it is ok to use some compiler-specific define to decide what to 
do?  Otherwise there would have to be an additional configure test.
