Current comprehensive color management systems are currently tied to operating systems like Windows or MacOS, or in software from a common vendor (e.g. Adobe). Unix/Linux has no comprehensive CMS and windowing systems and device drivers do not yet provide a standard color management mechanism. Software like GraphicsMagick presents CMS as command-line switches, which require an expert to use properly. Discussion has now started regarding how open source applications may accomplish CMS in a standard way. Naturally, GraphicsMagick should participate in any standard CMS approach. There is some very early discussion and proposals on the web site at "http://www.behrmann.name/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=38". If you are interested in CMS in an open source or Unix environment, you may want to become involved in the discussions and provide ideas.
