Of course "IMDisplay" must be short for "IMage Display". :-)

Given that the implementation classes were created using a Microsoft 
MFC app generation tool, the code is riddled with IMDisplay.  We have 
not tried to change that.  In fact, the program is built as imdisplay, 
and we change the name to gmdisplay at install time.

There have been few improvements since 2002 since we are very much in 
need of a volunteer to create a portable GUI based on something like 
wxWidgets.
