I should add the Changelog states > > * Adopted Bob Friesenhahn's patterns-- use as filename pattern:checkboard, > pattern:bricks, etc. I have placed a Unix sdiff between GraphicsMagick's logo.c and ImageMagick 5.5.7-1's pattern.c at the URL "http://www.simplesystems.org/users/bfriesen/logo_pattern_diff.html" so that people can make their own judgement call. Note that while I added the pattern images to logo.c, I generated the names for the image arrays myself since the names in XFig were either inappropriate or non-existent.
