I am not sure what you are meaning by "histogram" but I am not getting 
a histogram (a count of how many times each color is used) from 
ImageMagick's "info:" in ImageMagick 6.4.8.

ImageMagick does produce a histogram via the histogram: coder, putting 
the histogram in a huge text comment.
