The author of the PALM coder (Christopher R. Hawks) has since
contributed an updated version of the PALM coder to ImageMagick.
Presumably the update fixes bugs.  Due to ImageMagick's new (more
restrictive) license I have not incorporated it into GraphicsMagick.
