A script downloads the 'New Yorker's' daily cartoon, extracts
the caption, converts the caption to a gif with text2gif, resizes the
caption to have the same width as the cartoon, appends the caption
with the command:
convert -append DC122717.gif Caption2.gif 20171227.gif
Today I let this run for minutes before I stopped it; it was
slowing disk access down noticeably (13% free). I can view both
images; file reports:
DC122717.gif: GIF image data, version 89a, 1088 x 1088
Caption2.gif: GIF image data, version 89a, 1075 x 43

22175 Dec 27 11:07 Caption2.gif

The caption is 'Snapchat's newest filter.', which text2gif made a 200x8 gif from, convert -resize changed to 1075x43.
I notice that it continually creates 7MB files in /tmp; I stopped at 23.
