I am not aware of any fixes. The author and maintainer of the PNG
module (Glenn Randers-Pehrson) died in October of 2018 after a long
illness. Contribution to the project is at an all-time low and it
seems that many people are interested in searching for bugs, and
reporting bugs, but not so interested in investigating the bugs and
submitting fixes for them.

I have made many fixes to the PNG module, but mostly to address
security issues discovered by oss-fuzz or independent security
researchers.

If a bug report is opened at SourceForge and a problematic PNG is
attached (carefully wrapped in a zip file because SourceForge
re-writes uploaded PNGs!) then I may be able to look at it as time
permits. The fix may be trivial once the problem is identified.

This project is entirely developed and maintained by unpaid volunteers
who give of their spare time outside of their normal working hours.
In the past year, that has almost entirely been me. Assistance from
new volunteers would be greatly appreciated.
