Hi I was able to save an image as *.png, and then use the gimp to save part of it as *.bmp. Lastly I used potrace to convert it to *.svg. So, that' one way to automate it. The command was: potrace -s -o swimmer.svg swimmer.bmp At the end of 'potrace -h' the formats supported are listed: ... Possible input file formats are: pnm (pbm, pgm, ppm), bmp.
