I have about 3400 data pairs which describe a system's configuration management. I am trying to figure out a way to display this data in a way that we can scroll around, look at the data, see the names of the nodes, look for peculiar linkages between nodes, etc. When I just hand it to dot or dotty, I generally get a black blob. Using dotty, it does space things out a bit, but I don't see names of the nodes and it is hard to move around and look and not by accident create or delete nodes or links. Are there other tools that we might evaluate to see if they perhaps perform better? Right now, I have no configuration commands in my file - only the node pairs.
