Hi I assume this can't be done right now, but is it feasible or even imaginable that dot could have a new option to impose a grid on the graph? My idea is that we'd still have all - or most of - the options for defining nodes and edges, but each node would havingto have an attribute being an (x, y) pair, with the centroid of the node at that (x, y), and with the meaning that the node is not to be moved. In other words, the graph could be imagined as graph paper, with an implicit, i,e, invisible, grid each way, and with the nodes forced to reside at intersections of this grid. The grid could of course be made visible with an option. This clearly impacts on the amazing ability of dot to move nodes and re-route edges, but I'm dreaming of somehow disabling this aspect of the code. Ideas, anyone? -- Ron Savage - savage.net.au _______________________________________________ [email protected] http://lists.research.att.com/mailman/listinfo/graphviz-interest
