Node should be about the same. The user drags the tab of an open website into a map and a node is created that links to that website. Currently only works with video (I'm talking about IdeatreeLive). Same idea could be used for images. Assuming you're displaying the map in a browser, you'd need to register a drop event in javascript for each node. How that's done will vary depending on the output format you're using (png, json, svg, etc). You just need some representation of each node as a DOM element that you can attach the event to.
