Could someone tell me how to rectify this error?

Hello everyone : ) ,

I installed Fedora Core 6 and in the beginning the
audio was working fine. Then I did some package
updating and my guess is that since then sound stopped
working ( the package updating may be a unrelated
coincidence)

here is the message I get on clicking on the sound
button in my taskbar : -

No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices
found.
--------------------------------------

Could someone tell me what I should do to fix this ?
