Trouble with Mac Installation

I downloaded the ImageMagick binary for OS X 10.4.  I unpackaged it and
moved it into the folder with the images I wanted to view.  I then entered
the lines that it told me, substituting the directory it was in for $HOME.
 When I tried to test it using convert and display, it said that the
commands were not found.  I made sure to change my PATH and
DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH.
