Do you have an example image.  We get:

  -> identify -verbose corrupt.jpg
  identify: Corrupt JPEG data: 22234 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9 `d' @ jpeg.c/EmitMessage/227.
  identify: JPEG datastream contains no image `d' @ jpeg.c/EmitMessage/232.
