I don't know how to measure an image's color temperature. But you 
might get some clues from my script, colortemp, which converts a 
picture from one colortemp to another.

My first guess would be to find the color in your image closest to 
white and then compare to the colortemp tables (inside the script) or 
gradient image produced by my script.
