Possible bug with XMP

Hello,

I have image:

This image has some metadata (XMP and IPTC) added by FotoStation 
(creator, authors position, copyright string).

I am processing it with command (part of script, only one command 
touching image and its metadata):

convert -depth 16 "$1[0]" -filter lanczos -resize ">800 x >800" -unsharp 
"1x1+0.3" -sampling-factor 1x1 -density 72 -units PixelsPerInch -quality 
85 -depth 8 "d:\\obrazki800\\$NAME.jpg"

New image metadata is unreadable in FotoStation and in exiv2. Only 
exiftool see metadata. In exiv2 (exiv2 -px DSCF1199.jpg) I see only:

Warning: Directory Image, entry 0x0001 has unknown Exif (TIFF) type 0; 
setting type size 1.
Warning: Directory Thumbnail, entry 0x0001 has unknown Exif (TIFF) type 
0; setting type size 1.

I tried to extract original metadata and reapply it later (convert 
DSCF1199.jpg -profile xmp:kreta.xmp dscf1199-with-xmp.jpg without 
success (FS doesn't see metadata at all, exiv2 gives the same message).

Everything on WindowsXP. Since 2 of 3 programs are not reading metadata 
properly after IM processing I am leaning to blame IM...
