Are you suggesting that this could be a problem with the current
ImageMagick install? I could believe anything now, but 18 seconds
compared to 1/2 second is pretty extreme.

The message I got back from the support staff late last night stated:

/"I apologize but as a single core VPS this does look to be the
correct amount of time. Keep in mind that any other processes you
have running will slow this down also."/

I have ROOT on the server, probably can but I have never done anything
like this. System administration is not my skillset, sorry. With
verbatim instructions I could be walked through it. Here is what it
looks like if I log in as root:

[/usr/bin]# ls -l | grep convert
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 27745 Feb 3 03:04 convert
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4880 Jan 13 22:09 jv-convert
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 46608 Jan 6 2007 libglade-convert
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3670 Jan 29 12:47 mysql_convert_table_format
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 5896 Nov 30 15:34 pure-pwconvert
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 13336 Mar 14 2007 rsvg-convert
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 12408 Jan 6 2007 sfconvert

Is it possible to rename everything related to convert and do an
install, test, then clean up afterwards?

Thx, Bob
