Right. I'll do that. I thought 1394 was supposed to be the new
standard for video transfer, even professional uncompressed video.

Right. That's what I was thinking, but find no reference to such a
card with free drivers.

No need for that, since audio is captured with dedicated audio gear.

Also no need for this, since I view the video directly on the
computer. As long as video and audio has time code, this should work
perfectly.

Well, all I really want is 1080p25 RAW video with time code into the
computer, using a simple camera head;). Seems to be a modest goal, but
turned out to be quite a lot more.

Hmm, yet another standard. You think HDMI will replace SDI?. I thought
HDMI was a consumer interface, but I guess it can carry the same as
SDI and 1394. I'm a little confused now;).
